Fatal Addiction--Ted Bundy interviewed by James Dobson on the eve his execution (video link)
Focus on the Family Daily Extras : Fatal Addiction (01/22/09) ^ | 5/17/2010

I post this video link because it provides a rare first hand opportunity to come face to face with a proven and self-confessed psychopath of the first order. I have watch it many times and believe it is remarkable for what it tells us about psychopathy and the pathology of evil.

Now, as you watch the interview, compare your perception of Bundy's intellectual honesty and appearance of moral conflict to that of Obama in any interview or speech or public appearance.

What do you make of the fact that Bundy whitewashed all the bad stuff out of his childhood? He wasn’t raised in a normal two parent family. He was born in a home for unwed mothers and was brought up believing his mother was his sister. His grandfather, whom he thought was his father [and may well have been] tortured animals - as did Bundy as a child [he mutilated animals with knives]. Why does Bundy mention none of this? Could it be that he is just giving Dobson what he wants to hear?

and because he is a narcissist, he doesn’t learn from his ‘mistakes’; he never makes any in his world!

If 'narcissism' were a religion; we would call it Liberalism.

Do believe - at it's highest committment - Liberalsim IS the ideology of the pathological, narcissistic and meglomaniacal. As are the rest of the Leftist 'ism's' which like Liberalsim; share the same morally degraded - and unequivically evil - totalitarian rootbed.

My impression was that he simply that he didn't want to shift blame onto someone else.

It didn't strike me so much as noble as just trying to cut to the bottom line because he knew his time was short.

Did you notice how he responded to the phone ringing in the background? I'll bet his first thought was "it's the Governor!," followed quickly by..."who the h$ll am I kidding..."

We see it differently. I didn’t watch that much of the video because I got so confused. To hear him tell it, he was raised in a very good, stable Christian home. That clashed so diametrically with everything I’ve read that I had to go back and look it all up again, to make sue I hadn’t gotten Bundy confused with someone else. When I realized that no, Bundy really was raised in weird—at best—circumstances, and had shown abnormal behavior by the time he was three years old, I lost all interest in the interview. I don’t think Bundy was actively lying; I just don’t think he ever came to terms with the rage he felt over being told his mother was his sister. A little kid needs a mother. He was deprived of his, and bad things started happening almost at once.

Well, well, well.

And I had always thought that Ted Bundy was an exception to the pretty reliable rule that sexual deviancy in males stems from the lack of a strong, NORMAL father figure.

Turns out he had a pretty f-ed up childhood like so many others.

I have explained to people that he was raised believing his mother was his sister, only to hear them say, ‘So what.’ Like it’s no big deal. The hell it isn’t. A boy needs a mother, period. She’s his first female figure, and she’s the one who teaches him how good it feels to be gathered into feminine arms when he’s hurt or sad. If she treats herself with respect, and is treated with respect by the males in her environment [Bundy’s mother was NOT treated with respect, particularly by her father] the boy carries this powerful object lesson into adulthood. When a 3-yo child is exhibiting seriously screwed up behavior, it doesn’t take a shrink to see that the sister/mother routine is going horribly off the rails.

You are absolutely correct. It IS a big deal.

So too, for both girls and boys is the presence of the father figure.

It sounds like with Bundy, the father was long gone, but that, in my estimation, is not too terribly different from an abusive father, who may be present.

Yet another sad piece of evidence supporting the paramount importance of the stable, traditional nuclear family.

In a way, Liberalism is a refusal to leave (develop beyond) early adolescence just as homosexuality is a refusal to leave puberty (hence a refusal to move beyond gender confusion).

The self-afflicted of both categories takes extensive measures to avoid facing reality and, in doing so, avoid the very reality that disabuses teenagers and young adults of their narcissistic tendencies.

You can see how it is that Obama has avoided reality.

Pampered by grandparents, coddled by affirmative action, mentored into believing that he didn't have to work to make his way in life by those who gained access for him to Columbia and Harvard Law (and then paid his way through each).

By Emil Jones in Illinois who put his name on legislation he had not written...by U.S. Senate Dem's who backed him in his campaign for president, by his adoring, swooning fans.

Obama is the king of the narcissists, the Liberals, the homosexuals, and all developmentally-challenged Americans. And the king and all his subjects are about to come face to face with their nemesis...REALITY!

Yes, fathers are critically important too. To see just how total, complete and horrible a number an absent father can do on a kid, look no further than the Oval Office. But Obama is like Bundy. He can’t acknowledge the rage he feels toward both parents for abandoning him, so his fury surfaces in indirect ways. To our detriment.

Exactly...Bundy had to dig deep to find the mask of remorse.

. . .and 'one more' here in comparison of Obama; can ANYone recall, share, show an 'authentic' moment; whereby Obama appears to actually believe his 'sympathy rhetoric' when speaking of ANY tragedy our Country has faced?

A couple of weeks ago we were treated to the human side of Obama by way of numerous reports of his dropping a tear at Civil Rights Ceremony. . .All I saw was his poking his favorite - or 'second favorite' - pointy finger, in his eye.

(Think he may have thought; like Clinton post Ron Brown's funeral'; he could just make the obligatory - and PR worthy - finger/photo-op.)

No question the negative impact; and the price we 'all' pay for bad parenting et al.

OTOH. . .why did we have 'Ted'; or have 'Obama'; and a gazillion like them; and have the goodness of a 'Dave Peltzer' (A boy called IT; A man named Dave and others)?

The intervention here; of course; is critical. (Obama had Frank Marshall Davis/confessed-but-proud/ sexual abuser and confirmed communist.)

Don't know. . .is there a 'viral' component to 'narcissism'? Never mind. . .just 'waxing rhetorical'; but not dissimilar by MO's and threat so contained.

I believe that many (most?) can and do rise above a less than ideal childhood situation.

However, the lack of an intact, stable, traditional monagamous, heterosexual core family unit certainly increases the chances of deviancy/pathology/criminality. This is not to disparage the yeoman work done by any number of single parenters out there- they can GREATLY lessen to liklihood of later problems, but the facts are what they are.

Narcissism is actually an extreme psychological reaction undergone by some children who find their childhood unendurable. As some have pointed out, children react differently to horrific situations, and certainly not all become narcissists. The common threads among those that do are (1) childhood abandonment or abuse by one or both parents, (2) wholesale dysfunction in whatever unit they end up being raised in, and (3) a complete lack of a bottom-line core of self-worth.

Iow, the actions of one or both parents say to the very small child, in so many words, “You are worthless.” To which the narcissist-in-the-making responds, “I will become the center of my own private universe. In my personal world, I’ll not only have worth, I’ll be the most superior human being alive. I’ll be better than EVERYBODY. I’d be better than God if there was one, but there isn’t or He wouldn’t have let me go through this. So I’ll be god for myself.”

It is a witch’s brew from which recovery is difficult if not impossible. Bill Clinton was a narcissist, but Obama makes him look like a piker. Fwiw.

Agree. . .no question that on the 'narcissism' scale; Obama outranks the 'piker Clinton'.

Think Obama could be just short of 'multiple personality disorder'; another extreme response. (OTOH; having just learned of his twenty-seven passports; and his already 'multiple names'; addresses. . . maybe he is not 'so' short.)

I don’t see the multiple personality angle. He struggled with parental abandonment, as opposed to extreme physical trauma, which usually precipitates personality splits. I do see Obama as constitutionally incapable of handling any criticism whatsoever, no matter how mild. This could prove his undoing. As the economy continues to unravel, and if eventually, heaven forbid, a terrorist succeeds on American soil, criticism of The Won will be inevitable. He won’t handle it well, and that’s an understatement.

Let's not forget those twenty-seven social security numbers/lol. And then there is Obama's Kenyan/Indonesian/ME and lastly; 'African-American' identifications and this start to look like a springboard for something more serious. Who knows, 'who' Obama will be in a few years. We know he suffers other delusions as well. Obama knows he is President; but he thinks he is King!

(It's looking serious here...)

Of course, we know Obama has plans to have his critics silenced by then. (He is a 'study'. . .he hates criticism; and hates more, 'humor' directed against him. Making him the butt of a joke puts him over the top. Probably the best campaigning against Obama is finding ways to make people laugh - at him.

It what he does best as well; against his enemy targets (ANY and ALL, who may disagree with him. . .) Yes, this guy is sick!
