Paul still up big
Public Policy Polling ^ | 05/16/2010 | Tom Jensen

Fueled by a high level of unhappiness with the direction of the Republican Party, Rand Paul appears to be poised for an easy victory over Trey Grayson in Tuesday's Kentucky Senate primary. He leads PPP's final poll 52-34.

There are more Republicans planning to vote on Tuesday (41%) who are unhappy with the current direction of their party than ones who are happy with it (36%). Among those discontented folks Paul has a staggering 59-28 lead which more than offsets the 47-45 lead Grayson has with the voters who think the party's current course is fine.

The reason Paul is winning is because he not only is an articulate spokesperson for the liberty and sovereignty of the citizen but he is not allowing himself to be cast as something he is not. One can be for national security without supporting national tyranny, one can be for charity without being for thievery, one can be for prosperity without looking to government as a source of it. I support Rand Paul because he is exactly what we need. He is someone who will say we need to cut the government and not be ashamed of it and he can win saying it. Haven’t we had enough of those who continue to service the same inside political game which in the end leaves us the citizen holding the bill while the least responsible and least productive among us are given a free ride and we are expected to submit to the will of the most vile underlings of a government gone mad?

I do believe that Mitch McC is not going to be a happy camper on Tuesday evening.

I do believe that Mitch McC is not going to be a happy camper on Tuesday evening.

Well then he can finally join the rest of us. We have not been happy campers for a long time and it is time he understood that.

Mitch is smart and after the returns are in, he is going to start looking for ways to welcome and support the future Jr. Senator from Kentucky.

Rand Paul:
"Today, you are that American rabble: the disgruntled, the disillusioned, the cynical, the bereaved -- bereaved at the loss of liberty. The establishment from their high-rise penthouse views laughs at you, laughs at us..."
"...It doesn't take a majority to prevail, It takes an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brush fires of the mind."

I spoke, indirectly, with a 98 year old woman tonight who is eager to vote in the primary for Dr Paul, if her daughter will take her to the poll. I offered help, but she would only accept our prayers.

Hopefully the days of the country club Republicans deciding the fate of the party is over. Sarah Palin and Jim DeMint endorsed Paul while establishment types like Dick Cheney endorsed Grayson. Mitt Romney is hiding under his bed.

Speaking of Mittens, he has been very quiet recently. I don't think he wants to be asked about AZ 1070.

Have you heard the outrageous Grayslime commercial attacking Rand for saying he would not have voted for Mediscare? Grayslime resorts to pitting Kentucky's grandparents against their grandchildren. Go home to the Democrats Grayslime.

Mitt Romney is hiding under his bed.

I hope it collapses on him. Romneycare is the prototype for Obamacare. Thanks for greasing the skids of socialism Slick Willard.

FWIW, both Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani have endorsed Trey Grayson.

Perhaps unsurprisingly.

Mitt Romney is hiding under his bed.

That ol' Myth Romney is such a brave soul.

And he picks such good candidates, like Trey Grayson and Meg Whitman; both of which are Democrats in cheap Republican suits.

Good ol' Establishment GOP types trying to control and poison GOP politics.

Giuliani did endorse Grayson. Mitt Romney, however, has endorsed no one in this race.

Oh... I thought I’d read some reports that Romney had expressed support for Grayson. Perhaps I was mistaken in the association.

If he’s the GOP nom, as it appears he will be, I’ll find myself supporting Paul, but the fact he was against the Iraq war and has gone squishy about Afghanistan gives me some concerns. I just hope he doesn’t start taking cues from his nutty old man.
