She could have said she supported candidate based on their views not gender.

So are we/you saying we actually think LB is/was a great policy/political wonk?

She (as well as Barbara and other a-political people who are thrust into political spotlight) are chosen for these interview shows just so they can give politically incorrect (policy wise) answers in favor of what you might expect from an average person who doesn't think in "politics" terms.

Remember LB is not a politician or even a lawyer as are her predecessor and successor. Although "in" a political environment she is not in "her" environment.

I think she provides insight into how the Bush family thinks and indeed folks and the media pay attention to first ladies.

and I think her social liberalness influenced her husband and I always suspected that even though I did think she was well mannered

Sorry but I can’t cut her any slack there. She has been a political wife long enough to know better. She takes a political point completely opposite her husband’s in this politically charged time. Either that or her husband approved of the message. You tell me!

It is deliberate and designed to hurt.
