I agree that the mentions of Pennsylvania Avenue, etc., are ridiculous. I really do think they’re too childish to be much more than a stupid prank.

I think someone else mentioned electronic forging, and that’s what I’m curious about. My husband is in computer tech, has been programming/legal “hacking” for about 20 years now, and he’ll say this sounds exactly like one of the stupid stunts 4Chan and groups like that pull, just to see people’s reactions. These guys are 20 or 30 with the maturity of an 11-year-old and have nothing better to do than be “subversive”. Not limited to one political party, either. Some libertarians, some Marxists, some anarchists, some apoliticals. All warped. ;(

Yeah, most of those addresses and numbers are probably bogus entries. There is one, however, that isn’t. That is the 042 number issued out of Conn. There is an official government record ( his selective service record ) that shows he used that number.

I think you’re right about the ones you’re talking about. It’s not Obama creating them, it’s hackers/illegals/goofballs.

But it is weird (if true) that Obama’s SSN is a retread of someone’s born in 1890. I also read somewhere that he received his current SSN back in 1975 in Illinos, but he was a resident of Hawaii at the time. Also he seems to have a handful of SSNs associated with known addresses where he lived when attending various universities.

So there’s some weirdness which seems trivial but other weirdness that seems more important.

Perhaps but all this SS stuff is old news and has been out there since the campaign. That would have been one bored hacker to try this on a mere candidate.

Good point. I’m not very adept on the computer, so if your hubby says it’s a possibility, I believe him. I do think this was done on pupose, is it to Prank, or done to make the couple of “real” fraudulent ones look like part of like a prank? It’s one or the other, I wish I knew which.
