I like Rush Limbaugh

That analogy doesn't wash. Sarah Palin has actually held office and has a record of accomplishment. Rush Limbaugh's entire career was in broadcasting. It's a specious comparison.

But she is not very effective as an office holder.

She's accomplished more as Governor than most Governors do in two terms. And she would have gotten more done had the haters left her alone.

Don't you see how ironic this is? The liberal haters forced her out of office. Now they and establishment conservatives are complaining that she's making money on the speaking circuit, fund-raising, author, and now have the nerve to tell us that she's not electable?

Just curious, since you don't list it on your home page, in what state do you reside/vote?

At this point, since Chuck DeVore hasn't been able to do much in the last year, we are going to get stuck with Tom Campbell. Have you heard of him? He makes John McCain look like and extreme conservative!

The only reason there's a "barrage" is that you Palinistas basically challenge to a duel anyone who dares to criticize Palin.

Because we're sick and tired of addressing the same old lies that FReepers spew about Palin. They keep bringing up the "quitter" meme, never-mind that she held a fricking press conference explaining why she did what she did, for crying out loud. Then it's "supporting RINOs," and being part of the McCain machine.

That is so good to hear! I know she's selling out wherever she goes but, wow, getting $1,000 - $3,000 for a $75.00 ticket?! That certainly tells the story....nationally!

I was lucky enough to attend the event at Searchlight and you could feel the excitement in the crowd as she was being introduced and speaking!

Its becoming very clear that the PDS is being led by a group who support/endorse second and even third tier candidates who have miserably failed in the past at a Presidential run, or who have absolutely no chance in hell of winning in the future.

I mean, here comes a newbie rube from Alaska- ALASKA- who captures the attention of Americans, packs every event she's at (including the Tea Party), and gives nothing but fits to liberals. She was a nobody 2 years ago! And there they are... dangling in the wind desperately trying to hold onto the most minute piece of traction 'their guy' has. And who's 'their guy'? Another lifetime politician.

When you peel back the layers, it nothing more than run of the mill jealousy- because Sarah has accomplished in 18 months what 'their guy' has failed to do, ever.

This is just another hit piece by the MSM to stir division among conservatives. Politics, being what it is, didn't damn Ronald Reagan after he endorsed George HW Bush, for example.

The media makes sure not to mention all the conservatives Sarah has endorsed, such as Michele Bachmann, Tim Burns, Allen West, Doug Hoffman, and others.

I have supported Palin as long as anyone here and paid to see her in person and have donated.

But this cult of personality thing here is same old same old as someone said.

“They” do this everytime whomever “they” latch on to.

There is no room for critique.

It’s really silly for adults to act like this...not to say Palin does not have real detractors here but she is not above reproach and nor should she be.

You are still supposed to support Devore. And when the GOP realizes that going against the base is going to cost them an election, they will listen the next time.

Do I need to remind you what happened to Quayle when he made his Murphey Brown speech. As soon as the media pounced on Quayle, with the exception of Kissinger, Kirkpatrick and a few others, the GOP "compromisers" ran like cock roaches when the media lights turned on.

It was Bill Clinton who years later came out and said Quayle was right on Murphy Brown.

These people you say we should support for the good of the party will not even stand by us in the face of an obvious conservative truth like Quayle uttered.

Support Devore and people like him or we continue to lose. People like you are destroying - have destroyed - the GOP. Incrementalism only works if you get movement. You approach has gotten none in decades.

As for your suggestion that the Republican party has been put on notice, I have history on my side of that argument. But we don't have to guess. Let's mark our calendars a year from the election and come back to this discussion. I bet I will be proved correct?

And you most certainly are supporting the RINO wing of the party.

Saying she's a RINO for endorsing a RINO isn't a critique. It's a lie.

Saying she's for amnesty isn't a critique, its an out and out refusal to acknowledge points of clarity, including most recently on Greta.

When people stop lying about Sarah, perhaps her defenders won't seem so over the top.

And, as a Palin supporter, I can attest that I have been critical of her, as have most other supporters. The difference is, we aren't posting thread after thread crying about the same damn thing.

That analogy doesn't wash. Sarah Palin has actually held office and has a record of accomplishment. Rush Limbaugh's entire career was in broadcasting. It's a specious comparison.

Since you don't like that comparison, let's look at Newt Gingrich. He has held elected office. He has an important role to play in the Republican Party. But now his role is not in elected office. His role is as a speaker, writer, and advisor.

She's accomplished more as Governor than most Governors do in two terms. And she would have gotten more done had the haters left her alone.

Palin had accomplishments as governor of Alaska, but they were modest. And those accomplishments came by close cooperation with Democrats in the Alaska legislature.

Now they and establishment conservatives are complaining that she's making money on the speaking circuit, fund-raising, author, and now have the nerve to tell us that she's not electable?

No one in the conservative establishment is complaining about Palin making money on the speaking circuit or from a book she wrote. The country club Republicans don't like her. But the country club Republicans are not conservatives.

My response to the writer:

Mr. Spillius, you obviously don't know a thing about what's really going on here in America.

I am a Tea Party Patriot, and I admit I may be somewhat dismayed regarding Gov. Palin's support of Carly Fiorina and for McCain. But Gov. Palin is unwavering in her stand for the Constitution and for the freedoms outlined within that document. Therefore, our support for Gov. Palin is unwavering.

Gov. Palin's bandwagon is not, as you say, "wobbly." If you wish to see "wobbly," I recommend that you look at your own pathetic leaders, who appear to have forgotten the folly of appeasement so aptly demonstrated by your former Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain.

Unlike, say, England, where your leaders have sold your citizens out to immigrants and Imams who terrorize and intimidate you into surrender in the name of "tolerance" and "inclusiveness," America is still very much alive, and we Americans are poised to fight.

You see, Mr. Spillius, America still has a majority of people who are not ready to capitulate to socialism and ruin. You will see what a true constitutional republic looks like when, come this November, American citizens will hit the "reset" button on our government.

Mr. Spillius, neither you nor England have ever had it so good.

Respectfuly,

[60Gunner]

But it isn't just criticism, it's pure hate. I totally understand when people aren't crazy about some of her endorsements (I would much rather have Devore and JD) but some have outright called Sarah Palin the enemy! One of the loudest, with an anti-Palin ping list even posted, "FUSP!"

You would think that sort of utterance would be directed towards Obama and his hate America thugs, not at a woman that is trying to help save us from impending socialism.

You are still supposed to support Devore.

According to who, you? The Tea Party? Last time I checked, everyone still had the freedom to vote for whomever they wish. I find it disturbing that those who are saying to vote for the Tea Party candidate are the same ones blasting conservatives/republicans for always voting for the (R) label.

Indeed but I can easily point to a number of replies here where anyone who criticizes her ..legitimately in my view over Queeg or Firoina is called troll etc

it was this sort of worship over Bush which made discussing immigration, Miers, and other issues rather hard

it's a shutdown argument when in fact ..in my view...these are legit criticisms that she and her supporters can and will have to address

as for repeat threads on the same issue over and over...you have point yes

“How conservative was Reagan who made a liberal and a RiNO his VP picks?”

Every conservative should have learned from Reagan’s example, that you don’t repeat the foolish political moves of great men. Such ‘honorable’ acts tend to boomerang as huge mistakes.

Bush ‘Read My Lips!’ should never have been VP, as he rode Reagan’s coattails into the White House and was not a conservative Republican.

Compassion should have no place in hard-boiled politics. The stakes are too high.
