First things first, America isn’t Wasn't, an elected dictatorship.

Does Rand like earmarks like his daddy?

What is it that turns you off so much besides who he is related to?

If you could elect a group of people that are closer to what you believe than what we have now, why would that not be a good start?

Also, who is the perfect conservative that you are supporting in that race instead?

I’m pretty excited about his candidacy, and don’t mind not agreeing with him on all the issues. I don’t think we should be looking for the next Reagan personally, by then we will have won back the Congress..and lucky for us Obama is no Clinton, and won’t be looking to compromise.
I’m hoping there’s enough Libertarian in Rand to facilitate promoting new ideas and not be afraid of offending the political establishment.

Palin had to do that one. Juan gave her her national recognition. I was not too happy about it, though.

His publicly stated positions of course.

I have begun splitting time between my home and the nursing home and I have had almost no access to a computer since surgery last December. It will take a while to catch up. I suspect that Rand Paul will be nominated from what I have been hearing on Fox. If the claim in the posted article that he is mainstream GOP on foreign policy is correct, then this particular walnut has fortunately fallen far from the paternal tree.

As to Rand Paul being the next Ronald Reagan, I think that is more than a tad premature.

We probably have no "next Ronald Reagan" in our future nor a "next Mother Theresa" nor a "next George Washington." On a cheerier note, we shall probably not have a "next Comrade O" after we are done with the current occupier of the White House.

Don't feel compelled to reply as I am home only for today. When I am back here full time, I shall let you know.

FMDJ: I trust that you have not been harmed by the flooding in your town. God bless.

“Dr. Rand Paul, who is seeking the Republican nomination for the US Senate seat in Kentucky, is causing panic among members of the Republican establishment in Washington DC.”

I don’t like everything about Rand Paul, but if he has the PTB in the GOP runnin’ scared, then he’s worth keepin’ an eye on.

Aside from some leaks in the crawl space into the one end of the basement, no real serious flooding problems. Parts of my area were not as lucky, however. Take care !

This race is not an up or down referendum on Rand Paul. Believe it or not, there is another candidate in the race, and to help you in your decision, you ought to investigate that candidate's entire political career, including the 90's.

Yes Rand Paul is a LibertarianCon, not a NeoCon. To many folks, this is a feature, not a bug. But by all means let me know if the other candidate is acceptable, once you have found out what he's done in the past.

There was both fear and amazement that Reagan would effectively challenge that double dealing Rino. Ford gave us Stevens for thirty five years. No one writes that Stevens was a Ford appointee, but that was exactly what the compromise wing of the GOP regularly gave us back then. People also forget that Jimmy Carter ran as the conservative during the 1976 fall election. Ford was a blueblood, just like Greyson.

The elderly, tempered Reagan of 1980 was a long way removed from the 1976 candidate. It almost cost him, as the press tried to portray him as scrambled, senile, distant, and too old. Bush won the Iowa caucus due to temporary, positive press.

Rand Paul is just starting out. He is no Reagan. But time will tell.

Um, am I missing something somewhere-did M. McConnell suddenly start supporting Obamacare? I thought he voted against it with all the other Republicans! Wherever did you come up with that?
