One of the last straight police officers in the Peoples Republic of Santa Monica PD told me that a great many CA Licenses on the road are fakes.

It's just that the holders of the fakes never get caught. Frankly, they have a wonderful incentive to be very safe drivers! When they do get caught, it's not that much of a problem for them, either.

Bear in mind that my particular troubles only occurred because I (MOI) was busted for speeding. The perps in CA who received tickets only had to buy another license, leaving the damage on my number!

Heck of a country we run here, ain't it? The illegals in CA long ago learned to scam the system by merely using Spanish name customs. Gomez y Rodriguez appears in our system under "Rodriguez." Solution: two licenses; 1 to Gomez, 1 to Rodriguez! Two voter registrations. Two hospital cards. Dos Matriculaciones Consulares, Two Welfare Chits. "And why," ask the Sanchez Sisters, Congress Critters from San Diego, "stop at two? We ain't gonna win with two votes!"

My problem was 10 years ago. Improved computer systems have limited it nowadays. The government told me so!
