And YES, they can be deported. Happens every day. Stop the pandering and they’ll go home.

That's what we're saying will work....dry up the work for them here and they'll go home! Tighten up the border, build finish the fence, and they can't come back. Perfect plan!

Pssst.....your frist sentence is a complete conntradiction with your second sentence. (deported vs going home)...just so ya know

You and your ilk are the reason we lost to Mr. Obama and probably will again. “Oh, no, I won’t vote for Gov. Palin, she doesn’t agree with me on every single issue!” [feet stomping!] “I’m gonna cast my vote for Chuck Baldwin or Ron Paul, even though I know that’s really a vote for Obama!” Sure illegals are deported every day, in the dozens! You’re proposing deporting all 20-30 million of them. Do you have a huge army just sitting around twiddling their thumbs? Because our military has committments in Iraq, Afghanistan and hundreds of other places and ICE has nowhere near enough people to do much more than they are right now. Sen. Fred Thompson had a good plan, do you remember it?

Look what's happening in AZ. We don't need to do things the hard way. Enforce the laws already on the books and the illegals either won't have any place to work or they'll stay away for fear of being imprisoned...hence, they go home on their own.

In essence, they "deport" themselves.

I’d put a fifth chair at that table for Gov. Christie of New Jersey. (He probably wouldn’t mind sittin’ with the ladies.)

They should call every single latino in California in to "explain" how much they've suffered under repressive racial profiling because of California's exact same law, Section 834b of the California Penal Code, which has been on the books for years. Oh, wait, they won't find anyone because there hasn't been any racial profiling in California on account of Penal Code sec. 834b. Stupid liberals.

You’re proposing deporting all 20-30 million of them. Do you have a huge army just sitting around twiddling their thumbs?

Phony strawman. The proponents of amnesty are wont to create the false choice between a blanket amnesty and mass deportation of 12 to 20 million illegal aliens. In reality, we have other choices and alternatives that don’t reward people who have broken our laws with the right to stay and work here and an eventual path to citizenship. The 12 to 20 million illegal aliens did not enter this country overnight and they will not leave overnight. Attrition through enforcement works. We have empirical data from experiences in Georgia, Colorado, and Arizona proving that it does. Specifically, we need to:

Secure the borders. You cannot deal with those already here illegally without cutting off the endless supply of those wanting to enter illegally. Until the borders are secured, it is absurd to discuss additional guest worker programs and amnesty.

Fully implement the US-VISIT Program. There are over 4 million aliens now in illegal status, i.e., people who entered legally as tourists or students or temporary workers but did not leave when their visa expired. We need a system that tracks who enters and leaves the country and deport those who overstay their visas. More than 30% of our illegal alien population come from visa overstays.

Enforce existing laws against employers. Jobs are the magnets that attract illegal aliens. The government’s failure to enforce existing laws against employers and to create a proper employee verification program must end. The highly successful and effective voluntary E-Verify program has been temporarily extended by Congress but its future is still in doubt. This essential tool for preventing the employment of illegal aliens should be made permanent and mandatory, especially at a time when close to 16 million Americans and legal residents are out of work.

Implement 287[g] nationwide. The federal government must provide state and local law enforcement with the training and access to databases to coordinate and leverage existing law enforcement assets to identify and deport illegal aliens who are committing crimes that have killed or injured tens of thousands of Americans.

Enact state and local laws to discourage illegal settlement. Eliminate sanctuary cities and other benefits that reward illegal aliens and legitimize their presence.

Streamline judicial processing and adjudication of immigration cases.

Sen. Fred Thompson had a good plan, do you remember it?

Yes it was called attrition thru enforcement. The same person who wrote the AZ immigration law was Thompson's advisor on immigration, i.e., Kris Kobach. s

The AZ law is about turning the illegal aliens over to ICE for processing and deportation. The problem is that there are over 500,000 absconders running around the country. These are people who have gone thru all of the judicial procedures and ordered deported. They are allowed to do so voluntarily. Thus, they just disappear back into the US.

The AZ law is about getting the illegals out of AZ, not deportation.

Geez!

If the AZ law is about tunring illegal aliens over to ICE for processing and deportation, then the AZ law IS about deportation...which IS what I said.

And the overall point I was making is that if a person is for the AZ law, it is reasonable to conclude that they are for deportation!
