Pelosi to Aspiring Musicians: Quit Your Job, Taxpayers Will Cover Your Health Care Friday, May 14, 2010 By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter
(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said this week that thanks to the new health-care reform law musicians and other creative types could quit their jobs and focus on developing their talents because the taxpayers would fund their health care for them.
We see it as a entrepreneurial bill, Pelosi said, a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.

wait... Is this satire?
Please be satire....
In Jackson Michigan, HUD money was used to build an “art colony”. Then when health care came up they used the low income “artists” as an example of people who need health care the most.
Basically taxpayer money built a place for lazy bastards with crayons to live, and taxpayer money will pay for health care so they don’t have to get jobs.
Maybe she can give them a job in the Pelosi hotels and vineyards instead if she’s so concerned....NOT
Who’s going to pay for healthcare when everybody quits their day-job to follow their passion?
play that funky music, unemployed white boy.
We heard her say this a few months ago, at least for the first time.
Even MUSICIANS disagree with her!
Keep Your Day Job - by Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia
Maybe you collect or maybe you pay
Still got to work that eight hour day
Whether you like that job or not
Keep it on ice while you’re lining up your long shot
Which is to say, hey-ey
Keep your day job
Don’t give it away
Keep your day job
Whatever they say
Ring that bell for whatever it’s worth
When Monday comes, don’t forget about work
By now you know that face on your dollar
Got a thumb to its nose and a hand on your collar
Which is to say, hey-ey
Punch that time card, check that clock
But when Monday comes gotta run, run, run - not walk
Steady boy, study that eight day hour
But don’t underrate that pay-check power
If you ask me, which I know you don’t
I’d tell you to do but I know you won’t
Which is to say, hey-ey
Daddy may drive a V-8 ‘vet
Mama may bathe in champagne yet
God bless the child with his own stash
Nine to five and a place to crash
Keep your day job, until your night job pays
And what about the aspiring artists who paint and draw? Will Ms. Pelosi also bribe them with this to get their votes.
And who will pay for their housing, food, cars, student loans? We the taxpayers?
That’s it... time for me to retire way early... play some music, write some novels, Do a little dance, make a little love, Get down tonight.
Don’t be an ant... be a grasshopper! Let the kids pay my bills. ;-)
Hey Nancy......Needs more cowbell.
Directly out of the “Things White People Like” book.
Oh, thank you! Relieved.
See post number 3.
Grrrr. I spent many years studying art (on my own nickel). During that time, I saw a lot of current art and met a lot of visual artists. The majority were technically incompetent.
There was a song back in the 70s - “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.” Hey artists, this should apply to you, too!
