For the Pakistani authorities, capturing Omar is about as difficult as it was for US ATF to get a bead on David Koresh. They know where he is. They have always known. They are only making noises about giving him up because Obama’s people threatened bad stuff through back channels if they didn’t do something to take the heat off for the failed Times Square attack.
That bombing would have been devastating. Because of the paths of enclosed area in NYC with the building canyons the blast would have pushed out far and would have hurt or killed many, many people.
We are outraged but we just aren’t showing it publicly. I am sure the Pakistanis are acting like clumsy spouse caught cheating. they are trying to buy us off with a nice diamond ring.

rumors were circulating that the ISI had detained Mullah Omar in Karachi on March 27, and placed him under house arrest in what they call “community care.” I think the ISI have been protecting him all along. They haven't "captured" him, they've always had him. They're just trotting out the same offer they made sometime back, "offering" to let him go to Saudi Arabia in return for us letting the Taliban take over the Afghan government.
