With an almost certain win in the special election, Hawaii will tilt the state at least a little to the right in May. Now we also have news that we have an extremely qualified runner for the 2nd Hawaii Congressional District, Patsy Mink's old seat, in November. It may not be too much to hope for that both could pull off a coup in the Hawaii delegation that will send a rumble through the political system.
Ramsay Wharton is a former newswoman, anchor and reporter, for KHON, KHNL, and KGMB. Her face is well known to state residents. She is quite an attractive alternative to Mazie Hirono, who is a Patsy Mink/Maxine Waters clone. She just signed paperwork within the past couple of days. On her website (linked above) she states:
But there is one unifying issue--the need for a strong economy, more jobs, and improved education that prepares our children for the 21st century and beyond. Now, more than ever, Hawaii and the nation need political balance, strong leaders who will listen and advocate for the people, protect our Constitutional rights and freedoms, and do whats it takes to get America back on track to prosperity.
That's a great start. The Republicans have more fresh and exciting faces this year than I've seen in the past 10 years combined. Hoping for a great November!
Lets give it to the Japanese...they wanted it anyway in 1941.
Fingers crossed.
