Who can blame these parents! Plus the school districts tax a huge bite out of their property taxes..hope this turns into a huge firestorm of protests and action to oust these tyrant buffoons denying the kids their trip!

The parents can - and should - unite to defy the district, by taking the team to Arizona to play. Let the school district try to stop them.

It goes further than that. These are the people who like to say the aliens are “doing the work Americans won’t do.”
Think about the racial elitism inherent in the statement.
The work referred to is dirty, grimy, crummy, unprofitable and subject to nearly inhuman conditions. Not fit for Americans.
But just right for Mexicans and other brown people.

District 113 Superintendent George Fornero declined comment, saying it "wasn't just my decision." He referred calls to Hebson.So...the Superintendent seems to agree with the decision(?), but is hiding behind his Assistant's skirt?
Three words: Grow...a...pair.

"School district nixes basketball tournament trip to Arizona" That's SO wrong - why are the students being punished?? I can understand if the school district didn't want to go to AZ - that would be THEIR choice, but to forbid the team to go?? That's punishing the kids!

Every liberal is a violent thug. Inherently, yes, though their whole reason for BEING "liberal" is a sense of moral superiority, a need to feel good about themselves, because they reject the only real way to "matter".
Ever try to tell a lib that every policy they espouse is done through the threat of deadly force, or that they inherently agree that anyone that doesn't comply should be killed?
It's easy to show them A leads to B, but they'll usually freak out before you get anywhere near B and start screaming or blaming Bush.

at one point they said they worried about the team's safety while in AZ. It should be pointed out that the team will much, much more safe now than before the law was passed.

. . . those hoop dreams were dashed when players learned they couldn't go because of the state's new crackdown on illegal immigrants. The
Chicago Tribune commits a very great faux pas by inadvertently admitting to the real reason for Hebsons and Forneros opposition to Arizonas new immigration law. It is precisely a crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Which of Hebsons and Forneros beliefs and values is violated by a crackdown on any sort of illegal activity? In what manner are the girls safety imperiled by a states determination to effectively enforce existing law? The excuses Hebson and Fornero make have no intelligent connection to the policies they pretend to defend.

Yep, and Highland Park (where they live) is about 30 or 40 miles north of probably the murder capitol of the US, residents are calling for the National Guard to be activated to protect them.

Good plan. The team parents should arrange for team transport, accomodations, etc. and take any of the players who weant to go with them ona PRIVATE vacation to Arizona.
