Obozo doesn’t think we need a lot of nukes anymore, he may be correct.

They take too long to reach the target unless the mission is to kill 100,000 women and children, also known as "market share".

Given that the "holy grail" of Global Command/Global Strike is to have steel-on-target inside of single-digit minutes, the pre-positioned/orbital kinetic weapon is the way to go.

It’s a monumental step forward, if we have it. It doesn’t antiquate nukes, but it can, in theory utterly destroy a target within a few minutes of launch. ICBM’s take 20-30 minutes. For the record I don’t think we should cut back from the 5000 some warheads we have, yet. As for some little pissant country like Iran, we can take out every detectable target, no matter how deeply they bury it. We can take out every detectable boomer in the seas. Missile silos are toast. All without radiation.
