Support for Sharron Angle in the June 8 Nevada GOP Senate primary has jumped 20 points in the last month, according to a new Las Vegas Review-Journal/Mason-Dixon poll (May 10-11, 500 LV, MoE +/- 4.5%). Angle looks to me to be more conservative than either Tarkanian or Lowden for the Republican Primary for the Nevada Senate seat now held by Dirty Harry Reid. If so, this is good news that conservative and Tea Party support is pushing Angle ahead.

Can any Nevada FReepers tell us if Angle is the preferred candidate for conservatives?

Angle is the most conservative but she tends to be a one trick pony. In the legislature she was hung on property taxes and did a good job with that but a lot of other BS went by her because she was so focused.

Mark Levin has featured her on his show. I believe he is only inviting those he considers conservatives.

That said, he didn’t endorse Chris Christie, but has evolved into quite the Gov. Christie fan.

Sharron is by far the most conservative. She can be a one trick pony at times but she is dedicated to the Constitution. She is adamantly opposed to new taxes, favors a strong national defense and is utterly opposed to illegal immigration. Of course all of the candidates are saying the same thing. Sharron has walked the walk before though in an elective office. What really seals the deal for me is her accessibility. Even though she disagreed with my lobbying group on any number of issues, she was always available to meet with us and interview with us.

The general consensus is that Angle is the most conservative. Tea Party express has endorsed her. I think they have made a big mistake.

I seem to be a lone wolf in my thinking. I saw her speak, and was disappointed. I was forced to conclude that she is the one candidate who Reid would beat in the end. She isnt ready for prime time.

IMO a candidate who can beat Reid is the paramount consideration.

I would love to be wrong about her should she win the primary. Her positions are good.

Angle self-destructed after losing a primary for Congress in ‘06 and then against the RINO State Senate leader in ‘08.

What is Kalifornia, one of Obama’s 57 states?

Do you live in this country?

I endorsed Angle wholeheartedly in 2006 in the primary to succeed Gibbons for Congress. Sadly, when she lost to Dean Heller, she lost her mind and started charging all sorts of allegations of how it was all stolen from her. Her antics nearly cost us NV’s safest GOP House seat in the general election. She tried again to dislodge the odious Bill Raggio, who should’ve retired decades ago from the State Senate, and came up short. She’s the only candidate who could give Harry Reid a fighting chance to do the impossible... retain his Senate seat. Angle is a loser and loose cannon, and we can’t afford to nominate her.

Thanks for the post. Here is an excerpt from The Las Vegas Sun last month:

The Tea Party Express is doing a money drive at this time to finance Angle's campaign

Here is a bit of an email they sent out

And here we are today, with hundreds of thousands of you participating in Tea Party Express rallies, writing to Congress, and sending in donations for fiscally responsible candidates.

It is because so many of you each pitch in to these efforts that they are a success.  And this is important, because the media is watching.  Below is a copy of a story from the Las Vegas Sun by ace political reporter Jon Ralston (who is by no means a conservative) on the impact we are making in our support for Conservative Republican Sharron Angle's campaign in the race to Defeat Harry Reid.
Oops, I guess this should have been put at the top of this post!

Well there are others that believe she has a shot.

Posting all that negative stuff about her will only help Reid.

You can “believe” whatever you want. Insulting others for telling the truth about her record won’t help your cause. We need the STRONGEST possible nominee against Reid, not a loose cannon.

Angle is ONE TRICK PONY.

She isn’t being very clear about what stance she has on ILLEGALS-which are a big problem here in Nevada. ACORN registered many of them to vote in the 2008 election.

Lowden has suported Harry Reid in a number of prior elections- donating at least $1000 at least in 5 different elections.

I don’t trust her at all. She also isn’t being clear about illegals & how to deal with them.

Danny Tark is clearly stating that illegals have to be scoured out & sent home. He is not willing to allow them any schools-Hellth care- driver’s licenses or anything. They don’t belong here, as they broke the law just to get here.

NOt for me & I am definately conservative.

I livein N Nevada.

There is a distinct difference between N & S Nevada.

Harry has pretty good control of S Nevada. He is hated in N Nevada.

Tark ad is on radio right now-he says “we have to cut off ALL THE BENEFITS for illegals...or we will just keep paying the price” of having them here.

I haven’t seen a single ad from Sharon Angle stating her position re: illegals.

I want to see something concrete.

I think she is ducking the issue. That bothers me.

I think Tark is the strongest one to beat Harry Reid.
