Naturally, DU`ers are outraged and revile the first human to ever walk on another world. Gotta love this comment;

"Can't he shut up? The president has made his decision, now STFU!"

A few weeks ago DU`ers accused Armstrong of racism for speaking out about the Emperors decision.

Wow. Neil Armstrong is as apolitical as they come. When he speaks, people should listen.

That’s giving Obama the benefit of the doubt just as when he “means well but is poorly advised” on nationalized healthcare and on selecting the Communist sympathizers in his administration.

Barack knows what he’s doing. He wants to take this nation down several pegs.

Armstrong sold his soul to Bill Clinton for a ride on the Space Shuttle. He is anything but apolitical. He is a Dem through and through.

0bama is just an idiot.

He may also be poorly advised - but that’s secondary to the Kenyan’s idiocy.

All this indecision at NASA has apparently led to a train-wreck of a hiring freeze at places like the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, etc.

Armstrong never went on the shuttle - I think you’re referring to John Glenn.

I think you must be confusing him with Dem Senator John Glenn. Armstrong never rode in the Space Shuttle.

I stand corrected. I’ll just help myself to some more coffee. Thanks.

What, the likes of Rahm Emmanuel whispering in our CIC’s ear doesn’t bring a tear of confidence to your eye?

Armstrong has never cashed in on his fame as the first man on the moon. He rarely gives interviews and has kept a very low profile, politically and otherwise. For him to go public on this issue is a remarkable event.

Thank you, I made a mistake, I’m sorry. Not as sorry as I’m going to be after answering 150 replies, but I am sorry.

Indeed.

Particularly when compared to his partner in great American heroism, Buzz Aldrin, who is becoming a borderline attention whore.

Ha! you’re lucky you were replied to only a couple of posts later, or you really would get 150 pings. FYI, I would have sold my soul to ride on the shuttle, too, though.

Saw Buzz speak not too long ago. Part of his message was recovering from addiction, which could help a few people I suppose. But he was really just drumming up book sales.

LOL. I wasn't asking for a mea culpa. I just wanted to provide you with a little information about Armstrong. He walked on the moon 41 years ago and for many Americans that is ancient history. Confusing him with John Glenn of Keating Five fame is an insult to Armstrong.

People should listen to what Neil Armstrong has to say. For him to come out of his hole and make this type of statement means that has thought the matter through and KNOWS what he’s talking about. He know the history of space exporation because he IS history. Ø needs to open those barn door sized appendages on the side of his head. Neil speaks, you listen. He, more than Gene Cernan, Jim Lovell, Jack Schmitt, and other like-minded former astros carries a lot of weight on the subject of manned spaceflight.
