is that Chinese men have perhaps reached their limit of tolerance to China laws. With female infanticide, is there a shortage of Chinese women to marry? More men than women are alive in China. The natural thing for a man to do is to grow up, get married and raise a family. Chinese men don't have enough women to go around. Once they do find a mate, China law says 1 child only. Coupled with the fact that China "occasionally" puts a sterilization program into affect. Are men hitting the wall of frustration in China?

In the natural babies are born about half and half. If I’m not mistaken I think there is 1 women for ever 20 males in China.
A Communistic culture is the worst of all Its failures go far beyond the financial structure. It world drive anyone crazy to live in such a mind controlled, sexist and infanticide society
My guess is there is more to this story.
I don’t think the imbalance is nearly that bad. But, if it is, there is hope even for Helen Thomas.
If they are frustrated, they should leave the children alone and take out those frustrations on the officials who have implemented the policy.
In answer to the first question, yes. Some villages have male/female ratios as high as 130 to 100 - really abnormal. In fact, a lot of beautiful young Chinese women I have met here in Chicago are downright insufferable. They, especially the ones from Shanghai, make Jewish-American Princesses look like Wal-mart shoppers.
I think Rupert Murdoch’s wife, who slept her way to him, married and divorced three others, who divorced their spouses, before hitting the proverbial jackpot.
If they have hit that wall, who could blame them?
A family with one child is fine for those who plan it that way themselves. What happens if something happens to that one child?
Certainly no one in their right mind would argue for litters like the octomother had, but what right has a government to limit the children of a family who pays for their own kids and supports them themselves.
I’m with you. I have read about this story in several places and it just doesn’t add up. I am surprised that this story got out of China at all.
Love to see where you got the numbers from. More like 1.06/1

I fear this portends horror beyond horror. Both China and India have the same problem, both due to culturally despising females. The result is 30-50 million men, and growing, with no prospect for employment or marriage.
“Any young man who is unmarried at the age of twenty one is a menace to the community.” - Brigham Young.
From 1850 to 1864, China experienced the second bloodiest conflict in human history, called the Taiping Rebellion. Little known in the US, this murderous civil war was to a great extent caused by one charismatic individual, who led millions of people in pernicious slaughter, against an equally determined Empire. Perhaps 30 million people died.
But people who work and eat do not so easily rise up, as do young men without employment or their own family.
In this case, what India and China may face is that either both will have bloody civil wars, or that they will war with each other, solely to kill off these “excess” men.
Umm, excuse me. They aren’t ‘litters’ they are children.
Frankly I’m embarrassed you call yourself a conservative.
Welcome to the future that the communist Obama/Democrat Party are building for Americans.
Well Ben I call a passle of 8 kids at one time a litter. I am sorry if that offends you and see no reason why that should place any burden on my calling myself a Conservative.
You should not feel embarrassed for what I said, You certainly can call them anything you like.
Of course they are children, a whole litter of them.
I was just sitting here thinking about your post and wondering how offended you would get if I called a kid a Crumb snatcher, a chap, a rugrat, or some other endearing term people use in a jocular way to describe their children.
You may be a little too uptight Ben.
It’s not just the term, but the sentiment. I’d be proud to have 8 kids myself if God were to bless me. I think we should be encouraging more families to have as many children as they can.
The problem with those particular 8 is that they don’t have a father. I agree that single mothers shouldn’t have 8, they should get married and then have as many as their heart is content.
From an article at: http://www.chinatoday.com/people/people.htm Sex ratio for newborns aged zero to four had reached 163.5 boys to 100 girls by the end of 2005 in Lianyungang, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province.
It must be different in different regions of the country.
It might have been a prediction that I read. I know I saw that number somewhere. Seems if they can only have one child they prefer a boy, so many girls get aborted.
I remember it was like 100 female births for every 130 male births.
Now if asians were as smart as their always trying to convince us they are then why don’t they have a daughter and when she grows up demand a SERIOUS dowry??
