Investigators: Obama using Connecticut Soc. Sec. Number

Investigators: Obama using Connecticut Soc. Sec. Number

9:57 pm Eastern

Two private investigators working independently are asking why President Obama is using a Social Security number set aside for applicants in Connecticut while there is no record he ever had a mailing address in the state.

The investigators believe Obama needs to explain why he is using a Social Security number reserved for Connecticut applicants that was issued at a date later than he is known to have held employment.

The Social Security website confirms the first three numbers in his ID are reserved for applicants with Connecticut addresses, 040-049.

"Since 1973, Social Security numbers have been issued by our central office," the Social Security website explains. "The first three (3) digits of a person's social security number are determined by the ZIP code of the mailing address shown on the application for a social security number."

Daniels and Sampson each used a different database showing Obama is using a Social Security number beginning with 042.

"There is obviously a case of fraud going on here," Daniels maintained. "In 15 years of having a private investigator's license in Ohio, I've never seen the Social Security Administration make a mistake of issuing a Connecticut Social Security number to a person who lived in Hawaii. There is no family connection that would appear to explain the anomaly."

Does the Social Security Administration ever re-issue Social Security numbers?

"Never," Daniels said. "It's against the law for a person to have a re-issued or second Social Security number issued."

Daniels said she is "staking my reputation on a conclusion that Obama's use of this Social Security number is fraudulent."

For what it’s worth, my SS # was issued in the mid 70’s, in CT, and does match the first three digits of Obama’s SS #.

They weren’t issued at birth in 1961-or even in the 1970s-that’s for damned sure.

"Before 1986, people often did not have a Social Security number until the age of about 14, since they were used for income tracking purposes, and those under that age seldom had substantial income. In 1986, American taxation law was altered so that individuals over 5 years old without Social Security numbers could not be successfully claimed as dependents on tax returns; by 1990 the threshold was lowered to 1 year old, and was later abolished altogether. Since then, parents have often applied for Social Security numbers for their children soon after birth; today, it can be done on the application for a birth certificate."

I didn’t get a SS# until I started to work (which in my case was a work/study program in high school - boarding school). I just checked one of the online calculators and sure enough, it shows that mine was issued in Missouri, which would be accurate.

Neither of my children had SS#s at birth, I applied for them later on for tax reasons. They match up also.

Both of my grandhildren were issued SS#s at birth.

In the days when the Social Security Administration issued batches of numbers manually to Social Security offices around the country there were a couple of mixups, but those mishaps are well known. I was writing code on a government project where the key was SS# and you made assumptions based on the first 3 digits. You were issued a list of mishaps, so you could code to cover those issues.

All I know is NY and PA. I had my oldest in PA and the rest in NY. The SS forms are filled out right there in the hospital.
The number shows up about a month after the birth.

My oldest was born in 1989.

However - I was born in PA and raised in NY. I didn’t receive a SS card until my father needed to get one for some reason - maybe for tax purposes.

I was too young to apply for any jobs when mine showed up.

I stand corrected. Our only child is much older than your children and would already have had a card for work reasons by 1986.

I think I might have been 15 or 16 when I got mine. My wife and I are about the same age, and we both grew up in Philadelphia. My SS number starts with 175 and hers with 185, and the next two digits of each are the same. So clearly our numbers follow some pattern. I assume they would identify us (correctly) as having been issued our cards in Pennsylvania, and perhaps specifically in Philadelphia.

It appears he has a SSN that was issued only in the state of CT for a time period before 1940. There is no reasonable explanation

Yes there is.

Every 60s and 70s radical had a copy of The Paper Chase, volume I which explained how to get a SSN from a dead person. TPC-I also explains how to concoct a fresh number consistent with your personal history, but, in that case, "Obama" would have forged a Hawaii number.

There is no question that the man calling himself "Barack Obama", or his associates, would have been very familiar with how to do this.

The question for investigators is, did "Obama's" number ever belong to anyone else?

Had to unless Obama is over 100.

The article specifically states that the year 1890 is associated with the CT number. Since no S.S. numbers were issued in 1890 (it didn't exist yet); the only possible association would be a date of birth for the card holder.

BTW: This has been brought up previously, including Obama's other 33 different s.s. numbers he's used. About darned time this starts getting some news coverage!

Yes, if I remember my 70s alternate identities well, the SSDI may not be complete for persons who died right after SSNs were introduced. A “borrowed” SSN from somebody who died in the 1940s was bulletproof as of the 70s-80s. Don’t know about now.

KEEP DIGGING... KEEP DIGGING.

There is so much crap surrounding this Creep-in-Chief.

DO NOT STOP !

******

Obama's mother and grandparents were born in Kansas.

What are their Social Security numbers?

Do the first 3 numbers of their Social Security numbers correspond to the numbers issued to Kansas residents as we would expect? Thanks.

Boy, SS fraud would be a delicious way of catching him in a birth-origin lie, but, uh, ,,,

Social security numbers are issued at birth. The article says that system of issuing SS numbers was instituted in the 1970s. I’m younger than Obama (by a good deal), but my social security number doesn’t conform to the article’s formula at all.

*****

I don't understand what you mean above. Could you please explain further? Thanks.

That is, what are the first 3 numbers of your Social Security number, and do they correspond to the state where you applied for your Social Security number? Thanks.

A quick overview of the SS numbering system...

http://www.ssa.gov/history/ssn/geocard.html

Number Has Three Parts

The nine-digit SSN is composed of three parts:

The first set of three digits is called the Area Number
The second set of two digits is called the Group Number
The final set of four digits is the Serial Number
Area Number

The Area Number is assigned by the geographical region. Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office. Since 1972, when SSA began assigning SSNs and issuing cards centrally from Baltimore, the area number assigned has been based on the ZIP code in the mailing address provided on the application for the original Social Security card. The applicant’s mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since.

Generally, numbers were assigned beginning in the northeast and moving westward. So people on the east coast have the lowest numbers and those on the west coast have the highest numbers.

Note: One should not make too much of the “geographical code.” It is not meant to be any kind of useable geographical information. The numbering scheme was designed in 1936 (before computers) to make it easier for SSA to store the applications in our files in Baltimore since the files were organized by regions as well as alphabetically. It was really just a bookkeeping device for our own internal use and was never intended to be anything more than that.

Here is the screenshot of the Selective Service record that shows he used that number.

I'm sorry, but could you please explain further what the screenshot of Obama's selective service form has to do with this Social Security Connecticut number controversy? Thanks.

I wouldn’t tell you, especially over the internet, but I posted at #12 a link explaining this much better, and, yes, it does properly match my first three digits to my state. (Actually, it *is* the wrong state, but that’s because of the unusual circumstance of my birth... but it is the state that I might expect it to show.)
