Looks like another incumbent is biting the dust. This one is one I'd have rather hung out till Nov. The good news is it appears Republicans are very motivated. David McKinley is cruising to the nomination on the Republican side.

it would be so helpful, if I had any idea where this is happening.

Soemtimes the inclusion of little facts such as who, what and where make a thread so much more interesting.

Mollohan is gone. I don’t see any way for him to make up the difference now.

The turnout is about even for Dems and Reps in the Mollohan district, which bodes well for November.

It has been called for Oliverio, and this is HUGE. Mollohan was a HORRIBLE representative; he turned off his fax machine on the day of the health care vote.

Oliverio is a DINO in many ways. From Wikipedia:

“Oliverio is considered to be a conservative Democrat and has espoused issues such as reducing the national debt.[2][3] He identifies as pro-life and is opposed to abortion rights.[4] He also supports an amendment to the West Virginia Constitution to ban gay marriage.[5]

Along with Delegate Jonathan Miller, a Republican,[6] he serves as the state co-chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a group which that seeks “to advance the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism, and individual liberty”.[7][8] Oliverio was also thanked in a 2006 speech by President George W. Bush for his assistance in securing the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the United States Supreme Court. Bush said, “I appreciate Senator Michael Oliverio, he’s here. Mike I think did the country a great service when he worked on behalf of Judge Sam Alito to get him confirmed by the United States Senate. I appreciate your — I want to thank you for that, Mike.”[9]

On March 20, 2010, West Virginia Republican Party chair Doug McKinney referred to Oliverio’s conservative political leanings by saying, “Sen. Oliverio has always been a conservative guy. He votes with the Republican on committees. We’ve joked for years he needs to come over to the party who thinks like he does.”[10]”

Even if a Republican doesn’t take this seat in the fall, this is a huge step in the right direction.

Channel 11 just called it. Mollohan is toast. This really is big news. Mollohan has been in there forever and was considered a safe dem seat up until this year.

I told him I would work to defeat him and donate to defeat him.

First time I ever told an elected official that.....

I am proud.

I stopped watching the vile filth of the ‘stars’ just for this purpose. It has paid off!

In the Wikipedia article on this congressional district it already lists Mollahan as having lost on May 11. 2010.

It’s official, Mollohan just conceded. I think that the Tea Party movement whom Mollohan had attacked crossed over and voted in the DemocRAT primary. The victor, state Senator Mike Oliverio, is a churchgoing Catholic who ran as a conservative opponent of abortion and gun control and called for repealing ObamaCare. Normally, this isn’t a winning formula in a Democrat primary.

First Bennett, now Mollohan bites the dust. Don’t be surprised if more fall, starting with The Specter in Pennsylvania next week.

Here’s another poll that counts. The incumbent has been in Congress since 1982.

Not only has defeated incumbent Alan Mollohan been in Congress for 28 years, but his father had represented it for 14 before that. In other words, it’s been electing the name Mollohan for the past 42 years, and now the DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY was won by someone who called for repealing Health Care Reform and openly courted Tea Party members. This is huge!

This is horrible news. Olivera is going to be hard to beat in WVa. Moolohan lost because hes corrupt, and now McKinley, who got 14000 votes to Olivero's 37000, is in for a tough race. Advantage Democraps

Here is a primer for those crowing about a 'conservative' democrat taking the nomination.

Mississippi's 4th district 'conservative' conman voted for Pelosi as speaker. There ain't no such thing as conservative democrat.

But it is good to see a corrupt dem lose the nomination.

Halleleuia!! It is better that this happens now. The rest of the Democrats need to learn sooner rather than later that siding with Obama can cost them their jobs.
