President Barack Obama told Hampton Universitys graduating class on Sunday that he does not know how to work an iPod. Last July, however, after pop-star Michael Jacksons death, Obama told the Associated Press (see video below) that he had Jacksons music on his iPod.
Youre coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which dont always rank that high on the truth meter, Obama told the graduates.
And with iPods and iPads, and Xboxes and PlayStations--none of which I know how to work (laughter), information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation, said Obama. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you. Its putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy.

Maybe when he couldn’t figure out how to work it, he gave it to the Queen of England. :)
LOL
The important thing about this statement is that the only that is worthy, in Obama's view, is that which can be used as a "tool of empowerment" or a "means of emancipation". Everything else is just a distraction, a diviersion from the work that means to be done.
This is especially concerning because Obama gets to decide what constitutes empowerment and emancipation. You can be pretty sure that he defines those terms as "things which advance the Progressive agenda". Anything else, such as talk radio, the internet, or Fox News, must be eliminated.
What kills me here is that it’s glaringly obvious that he’s lying. There are myriad recordings and transcripts that show that he’s a total liar and manipulator. And you’re right, the MSM just runs interference for him.
My mother used to always tell me to tell the truth because covering a lie is harder than the effects from the truth. Yet Obama is up there lying away, lie after lie, and he doesn’t have to account for anything. He just smiles real big and sounds real presidential and the lies just *poof* float away!
Now he's playing stupid about it like he can't figure out how to use email and the "magical" internet thingy.
I smell either a bunch of cordinated PR baloney trying to paint the guy as more of a common man or he's about to unleash another government crackdown/takeover on some part of the technology industry.
Now if he's lying then he's too dishonest to be president.
Which is it libs?
How is an XBOX a tool of empowerment? I bought mine strictly for entertainment, if it starts trying to “educate and empower” me I’m going to throw it in the garbage.
I shouldn’t be surprised that MSM ignore this obvious lie.
I wonder how Steve Jobs and all the other CEOs feel about 0dumbo bashing their products..
Funny he loved all those products when MSM will lauding him as such a tech savvy 21st century kind of guy
He’s terrible, though. Except for brief flashes of anger, he’s never showed any human emotion.
Mark Levin played the audio over and over last night and pointed out that Obama clearly did not say emancipation, but instead was using some jive lingo term refering to the removal of your pants. Must be a special Marxist code phrase.
XBOX is “evil” now that the Boy Scouts have a merit badge for it...
“he gave it to the Queen of England.”
Since it’s inconceivable that the POTUS would blatantly lie to the American public—especially about something so trivial—what obviously must have happened is that the Queen loaded MJ’s songs onto his Ipod for him. His “body man” Reggie Love probably turns it on and off for him whenever he needs to use it. In short, Obama really doesn’t know how to use an Ipod, but the minions around him facilitate and enable his technological ignorance.
True, but he loves to be in the spotlight and will lie without blinking an eye...
Oh, he can't use one without a teleprompter, and he didn't mention that condition because his teleprompter forgot to prompt him to mention it.
