The captured pirates were initially to be sent to Moscow for prosecution, but Russian military officials then made the decision to release them, citing the absence of a legal base to carry out prosecution procedures against pirates. The Russians know what our own government is unwilling to acknowledge.
Wonder if the raft they were set to sea in had a leak...

The Ruskies put em back on their boat, and an hour or two later, the boat mysteriously sunk. How convenient. I am sure the Russians have no idea how that happened, lol.

This is soooo trippy..!
1. I usually believe Pravda before the NYT
2. I like many Russian decisions more than American ones
Not in a million years would I have predicted this.

The pirate boat accidentally disappears from the Russian radar screen. So sad, really. I hate it when these unforseen accidents happen.

They released them - one at a time, over the edge, after they were ventilated to help regulate air pressure at the bottom of the ocean...

IF this, by some chance, happened via the US, the entire world would be outraged. Obamster would have to be in nonstop apology mode to no end. (But, the US would not do this under Obamster’s reign.)
