How much you want to bet NO OTHER RUSSIAN VESSEL GETS HIJACKED

The problem for the pirates is that this flag was flying a Liberian flag. And the picture I've seen has the name of the ship on the bow in English. How are the pirates supposed to know which ships are Russian?

A gut-wrenching nightmare for the pirates.

Wonder if the raft they were set to sea in had a leak...

That's what I was thinking as well.

I was also wondering if the pirates got their 72 Mermaids. ;~))

The russians have a ship mounted version of this It can make holes in pirate vessels. I have long thought it was an ideal anti-pirate weapon

I’m guessing they let the Pirates go.....followed them to the Mother Ship and then killed everyone....that’s what I would do.

I don’t understand how it’s come to this. In the 18th Century pirates were, by definition, without legal rights because they had withdrawn their allegiance to any flag. That meant that they could be shot on sight, and hanged if caught. How did we lose sight of that useful concept?

Those pirates’ families should be thankful that none of the pirates killed any Russians.

What has puzzled me all along about these pirates, is how the United States went out of it’s way to avoid taking them out.

I thought our fleet was out there to insure the shipping lanes were kept open. Over the last five years, the U.S. seldom lifted a finger.

What this did, was create a situation where other nations stepped in. Is that really what we foresee as a great condition on the high seas?

People who have lamented the U.S. being the world’s policeman, are going to see in short order why that was beneficial to them, personally. Our nation is withdrawing from the world.

China, Russia, others are going to fill that void. And so, instead of our ships slipping past other nation’s shores, we will have other nation’s ships slipping past ours.

Instead of us projecting overseas, we will be forced to defend our nation from our shores.

Those who lamented the U.S. being the world’s police, you’re getting what you wanted. And when you get it fully, you’ll begin to see why it was a bad idea. Sadly, it will be too late.

I’m sure the pirates felt so bad about attacking the ship they committed mass suicide.

Maybe some ruffians on the open seas confronted them on their boat...
