The FCC itself is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate communications! The FCC must be abolished!
Wouldn’t it be nice if the Republicans convened a Constitutional Committee to investigate all current laws under the lens of the Constitution? Any laws that aren’t specifically enumerated in the Constitution would be repealed and the issues thrown at the States. If the States don’t want to approve them, they don’t have to and can freely regulate based on their liking. Otherwise, anything not specifically enumerated in the Constitution would be repealed including laws, codes, amendments, agencies, committees, and NGOs that deal directly with the Executive branch.
It should be a committee in both houses of Congress that investigates these things and then drafts legislation. It would be likely that a majority of the legislation would never see a vote on the floors of the respective houses, but it should send a message to everyone that they are serious about reforming this Republic!
What does it take to create a bicameral committee?
