Fr. Pavone was the invited guest to lead prayers at a PP/abortion protest I was at. Interestingly, he did not recite/lead the rosary at the finish of his prayers (which were *all* ecumenical), but instead let another couple area priests do it as he went off to the side and talked with the organizer of the march. This was a little disturbing to me, but I was told through the holy grapevine, that Fr. Pavone, since he deals with pro-Life issues across the faith board, doesn't put strong weight on the recitation of the rosary at these venues. That made me concerned (because he IS a Catholic priest), but he does, of course, do an
incredible amount for the unborn ... I like this article, although it's pretty tough to read ...
Applause from Hell.
Never question the dedication of Fr. Pavone to Pro-Life, or Catholic, causes. He is a wonderful man, a wonderful speaker/leader, and a wonderful priest.
You know, he had to seek special permission to start his pro-life ministry? Why would any priest need to seek special permission from his Bishop, or from Rome, to start Priests for Life? (I’ve forgotten who, exactly, had to give permission, but I remember when it was granted.)
