Are we having sympathy for her because she’s simply a female? I know lots of unattractive, over-weight women who are mothers, wives, etc.

You're right, I don't know for a fact that she is a marxist. I do know, however, that she is not the most qualified, experienced person to fill one of the highest judicial seats in the land. Obama is treating the Supreme Court as if he were filling a vacancy on the local planning commission board. He's a disgrace and so is his appointee.
