My experience with (possible) illegals (no, I didn’t hire ‘em, I just worked alongside ‘em), is different from yours, I guess. Of course, I also live in Georgia, not Texas.
I’ll settle for securing the border first, making it hard (darn near impossible) to hire illegals second, and worry about what to do with ones still here third.
I’m betting most of ‘em will self-deport after the first two steps.

and make sure none who stay get any benefits except the gov’t required emergency medical care. They can stay as legal workers but should never evern get citizenshop
Then let in as many legal immigrants who have been waiting and have been vetted as want to come. THOSE are the ones who will assimilate.The millions of illegals don’t want to be Americans and they prove it over and over
