I’m gonna have to take a different stance here. Seems like I’m hearing from you that it’s OK to break some rules? I think this incident has taken a step in the RIGHT direction in teaching the child it’s NOT ok to break rules.

**All** schools need rules to maintain order and safety. Children need rules to help them grow into responsible adulthood.

In private schools rules and regulations for the children are privately negotiated between the parents, teachers, and principals. The lesson learned by the children is that caring adults ( their parents with the help of people their parents trust) are helping them develop the character they need to be successful in life.

Unless the parents in this article are financially able to **ransom** their daughter from the government school, the child is in this government (prison-like) setting by COMPULSION OF LAW!

In many ways children ( who have committed no crime) are treated in their government indoctrination camp like prisoners. They are stripped of their First Amendment Rights to free speech, press, assembly, and free expression of religion for most of the day they are under the supervision of state employees. They are ordered by the state when to eat, rest, speak, exercise, and this case, even **what** they are allowed to eat. Their parents must submit to the whims of the voting mob who elect the school board. The school board elections are dominated by the communist infiltrated teachers unions. The parents can not freely choose among schools whose policies best reflect the values taught in the home.

In essence children who attend government schools learn to be good little prisoners of the fascist state.

Regarding government schools, the above can NOT NOT NOT be reformed since it is intrinsic to the very system of socialist-funded, socialist-modeled, single payer government schools. And...Soon our health care system will have all the flaws that we see in government schooling. Government schools **are** socialism. Socialism can not be reformed.
