Just when you thought this story was long over

Four hundred years ago this volcano had an eruption that lasted two years. Only an idiot girbilist who is too lazy to read his homework assignment would assume this was over.

1575 years ago Mt. Hekla (part of the same volcanic complex) had a major belch, and so did Krakatoa, in roughly the same period of time, and the Dark Ages ensued in the Northern Hemisphere.

Civilization was wiped out in Northern and Western Europe for most of 1000 years, and in China for at least 300 years.

Tax revenues in Byzantium suffered to the degree they couldn't pay their armies for a century.

The Arabs ended up in the driver's seat in the Middle East and stuff just hasn't been the same eh!

The Greek Dark Age is also attributed to this volcano and its friends.

Various "depopulations" in Scandinavia over the last 15,000 years can be identified with eruptions.

This particular volcano, E15, is just a "vent" on one of the world's truly SUPER VOLCANOS, and it can kill whole continents in just a few days.
