Sunderland only 4.8% swing to Conservatives. OK, so we are looking at a long night. I have to be up early tomorrow so Good Night.

I’ll just end with my predictions - I’ve been convinced we’ll see a Conservative majority all the time and I haven’t changed. Cameron is a CINO and does not inspire confidence, but given the alternatives I think the voters will put him into Downing Street 10.

I never believed the Clegg surge. I felt it was a media “thingy” to make the election interesting.

OK, now I’ll see if I wake up with eggs on my face in the morning. :)

/SB

341 would definitely be a good majority

I am currently watching both BBC and ITV Yorkshire and Humberside live broadcasts.
I understand police have been called to polling stations in Leeds Southeast, Sheffield Attercliffe, and Castleford, after voters caused disturbances because of being locked out.
More coming in now ; Lock outs and voter protests in Hackney, Ealing North and Ilford in London, Birmingham Hodgehill, and Chester, where over 700 would-be voters have been threatened with arrest if they do not disperse.
It seems the problems have arisen through Returning Officers running out of voting slips, and also out of date electoral lists being used, so when the public turn up with their poll cards, their names do not appear on the registers.

Been a long time since we’ve had a declaration. This seems to be far slower than other recent elections.

There has been an evacuation from a vote count centre in Londonderry on a Security Alert. Apparently an old folks home nearby was also evacuated.

You should be aware that the BNP are anti-American, slagging off US military, not to mention holocaust denial.

UKIP are anti-EU/global warming/Islam, and are for small government, self reliance, and free trade.

Yes, saw that. Unfortunately it hasn’t been updated, as 0:01 British time was almost half an hour ago. I’ve watched the last few elections and usually by this time we’ve got a couple more results than we have now.

According to that page a BUNCH will report results in an hour and a half. Or something.

Higher turnout and increased postal voting. Dimbelby has said that the counters have to verify signatures on each postal ballot and it’s a bit of a time-consuming process.

There needs to be a way to verify the mail ballot upon reciept and take a person off the voting roll so they can’t vote again.

Well there’s a surprise. Maybe because an incoming Tory administration will need the backing of the Ulster Unionists.
On an alarming note, the Green Party looks as though it has got its first seat (Brighton Pavilion). The candidate, Caroline Lucas, wants a tax on all meat products and our motorways turned into canals, so there you go.

“May 7. 12.00am (WH) In Chester, a marginal seat held by Labour, the BBC reports that more than 600 people were turned away from polling stations – because the electoral register had not been properly updated. As David Dimbleby points out, this is scandalous. It will likely to lead to a legal challenge.”

600!!!

Thats a crime.

In constituencies like Oldham or Bradford the voting roll will have 30-40 Mohammed Ashraf Khans, 20 or so Mukhter Hyder Alis, and a handful of Mansour Begums.
In my area (Louth & Horncastle) we have had no mither at all, mind you we are a rural area.
