LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A state police report says the Alabama truck driver involved in a March crash that killed himself and 10 others in central Kentucky was talking on a cell phone.

Police say Kenneth Laymon of Jasper, Ala., crossed the median of Interstate 65 in central Kentucky on March 26 and slammed into a van carrying Mennonites traveling to a wedding in Iowa.

It’s easy to subpoena the cell records, and match it with the time the collisions occur....

This happens 500 times a day in the U.S...

It’s no secret....Cell phones are killers when used by drivers...

This cell phone crap is clearly out of hand. I usually encounter on a daily basis employees texting while on the job. While shopping at a local HEB I noted a young employee with both hands below her waist and out-of-sight behind the counter. I informed her that I’d like to check out after she finished. She blushed and then rang me up after putting her cell phone in her pocket. I also agree with another comment printed here. Cell phones are involved in killing more people than they save.

A bumper sticker I saw yesterday:

Honk if You Love Jesus

Text & Drive if you want to meet Him

No information provided on the driver.

What were is last words I wonder...

Something like:

“When is it a good time for martyrdom Mohammad?

Perhaps I should swerve into the path of the VW bug, will that get me my 49 virgins?

Ah, there is a van full of infidels.

How about them?

Very good Mohammad...”

Perhaps it was not the cell phone that caused the driver to cross the median.
