True. We never talk about this, but the Immigration Act of 1965 led to where we are today.

At the time, Ted said that the ethnic complexition of America would not change with the new law, and that we would not see teeming masses speaking languages other than English with his new law. It was a law which sought to show how humane and welcoming America was. Ted assured us that new immigrants would assimilate, just as the masses who came through Ellis Island in the old days assimilated.

Why are liberals never called out on the results of their policies? This immigration reform law from 1965 is one good example.

kennedy whacked US immigration three times and damn near got a 4th in.
