The problem is that at least 70% of Americans support the Arizona Law so the NBA is just biting the hand that feeds them for an ethnic group that could really care less about them.

Why can’t sports be just sports? I guess it’s for the same reason that causes and politics enter into everything these days. They started this nonsense (I think) with baseball’s support for breast cancer awareness, and now, of course, it has come to this - championing political causes.

Actually, I guess large companies started this nonsense, at the urging of activists, when they embarked on a campaign to become “good corporate citizens”. No, making a profit and providing services, jobs, and adding to progress and prosperity isn’t good enough. We have to show we care - about the environment, about schools, about poverty, about cancer, and on and on. Bah, humbug! Sam Walton did more to lift people out of poverty by making Wal Mart a success than all the activists, do-gooders, and cause groups combined.

BTW, is there anything sillier than one of those big, mean MLB umpires wearing a pink armband? *sigh* We have become a nation of whiners and pansies.
