Houston Chronicle is now reporting-—
Houston fire department crews and a hazardous materials team are investigating reports of a suspicious piece of luggage at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Authorities received a small aircraft emergency call around 2:15 p.m., after a bag was found near terminal D of the airport.
We’re hearing that something was thrown from a plane and there was some sort of explosion, said HFD Asst. Fire Chief Jack Williams.
The plane is believed to have landed at the airport and the bag is believed to be on the tarmac, according to Williams.
There were no reports of a fire, damage to property or injuries, according to authorities.
Airport spokeswoman Marlene McClinton said airport operations were not disrupted.
