Now you know why Cabela's didn't build in Omaha.
I had no idea Nebraska required a permit to purchase a firearm. File this under Rilpleys unbelieveable oddities of the Midwest. My son who was considering playing for Nebraska just unconsidered these nutzoids.
One of his rounds was found in the barrel of the perp’s gun.
Article failed to mention that the two perps, one of whom had the sawed off shotgun, wore masks.
The mother of the deceased perp was gracious enough to forgive the shooter/hero.
Now, if the police would do the same.
Omaha and Douglas County, NE are FULL of Gun Grabbing BASTARDS!
Permit required to “BUY” a gun? Tyrants.
Nothing irritates a LEO like someone doing their job for them.
So they stole his gun and WON’T issue a CC license?? Remind me to NOT move to Nebraska.
He showed he wouldn’t roll over in the face of armed gangsters hiding their faces while screaming and making threats of lethal force.
He probably scares the crap out of these LEOs, of course they want him disarmed.
Carry without a permit you are in the wrong(regardless of your constitutional rights)even if you save lives by having the fire arm on your person. FTG(figure it out).
Thanks, Alaska, for getting the ball rolling. Who's next?
Not a common name. I am a “Conboy” myself on my mother’s side and my Mom’s family are the finest, kindest, most generous, faith-filled Catholics you could ever imagine. My great grandfather on that side, unfortunately, was also a bigamist and when that was discovered, he was never seen or heard from again. He may be a relative, so I dropped him a polite note encouraging him to do the right thing here and allow this man his natural right of self defense.
Vermont never required a permit, Alaska was next, now Arizona. I understand that Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and Kentucky are all considering Constitutional carry.
And the political arm of the law reachs out to say ‘’p-ss on the victim(s), whoever they may be.
Marty Conboy responded quite promptly and informatively. He had good things to say about the man insofar as he was at liberty to divulge. And that all charges against him have been dismissed and should be “good to go” as far as obtaining a replacement handgun. And I’m all the way off in Nashville so he has nothing to gain from me with zero connection to Omaha.
Thanks for the update, that's good news.
For later read
I don’t usually follow up and e-mail the folks listed on posts like that, but I did this one and he was very forthcoming and responsive. And I’m always glad to share the word on someone who seems to be a “good guy” at any level of government who responds to an inquiry from someone who doesn’t even live in his state.
“McCullough was ticketed for carrying concealed without a permit. Investigators say he had the proper paperwork to carry the gun out in the open but not concealed. McCullough says he carries it in his waistband.”
Sounds like he was open carrying “Inside Waist Band” and the cops are trying to cite him for something, stretching the law to fit there perverted need to knock down a hero that makes them look bad, in their minds.
