I was in DaNang when the Kent State incident happened but I don't recall if it was ever reported on AFVN radio. I heard about it from an A Brancher who got a letter from home with a news clipping enclosed. He was pretty upset, he'd attended Kent State prior to service.

But that's just an aside; a couple years later, after I was separated and got back to the World, the story came out that there were shots fired from a dorm which set off the firing by the Nat'l Guard. Again, if I recall correctly, there was a starter pistol found that had been recently fired (several times) during the follow up investigation.

Anyone else remember that?

shots alleged at Kent State were never backed up and not dorm oriented I don’t believe
