WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- A woman who stabbed and wounded four people in a busy Target store Monday afternoon was arrested when an off-duty sheriff's deputy pulled his gun and ordered the woman to the ground as screaming shoppers ran from the building, authorities said.
Layla Trawick started randomly stabbing people with a blade about the size of a kitchen knife at about 12:45 p.m., Los Angeles sheriff's Sgt. Josh Mankini said. The 35-year-old was arrested with the help of private security guards.

Folks, things are going south real fast all around us, stay very vigilant, protect yourselves and yours at all times.
This is a good example of the good a person carrying a concealed weapon can do.
He put an end to it, maybe saved some lives, and all without firing a shot.
That is the message I try to spread far and wide, yes indeed.

geez! half the article was explaining how the off-duty cop scared everyone with his gun, and why in the world he would be carrying it in a crowded store.
It sure is. Imagine the mayhem had he not been there. How many more would have been stabbed by this crazy woman had he not been in the right place at the right time to stop her?
Just another reason to be armed any time you are out and about........

Same here. Its my main blade of use in the kitchen.
OMG! Those knives are available at Target stores to ANYONE without a background check!!!
I demand ACTION from Washington to ban all assault knives now!!

You know, in NY it’s illegal to sell a knife to anyone under 21, even kitchen knives.
I found that out just recently when I was shopping with my son for some kitchen knives he wanted to buy. I had to get them to be legal.
AZ just passed a knife preemption law.
IIRC one AZ city tried an outright ban on knives.
