Robert Krentz was slain March 27 while at work on his ranch.
The killing of a Southern Arizona rancher that sparked an outcry to secure the border was not random, and investigators are focusing on an American suspect, the Arizona Daily Star has learned. High-ranking government officials with credible information spoke to the Star, citing a desire to quell the fury over illegal immigration and drug smuggling set off by the shooting death of longtime rancher Robert Krentz on March 27.

My first gut feeling is this will prove to be an unsolved shell game, which is a pity since the Krentz family deserve better.
Note there is no mention whether the person in question is American or alien.
He is a white guy in his 40’s, balding and was witnessed changing his shirt.
The title does not match either the known facts or the main part of the article.

Regardless of the killer’s citizenship, the porous border is still a problem and needs to be addressed.
