More than 22,000 people have died in drug-related violence since Mexican President Felipe Calderon declared war on the nation's narcotrafficking cartels in December 2006,.

The Mexican government does not routinely release the death toll in the drug war. Recent media reports had given an unofficial tally of 18,000 dead.

Seems to be war going on down there...but Janet says our borders are secure...except for Arizona that’s an unfair area for her.

Legalize and kill the illicit drug trade as well as big government.

Can we get a little border security down here? Pretty soon Omaha is going to be southern and eastern border city.

22,000 isn't a 'crime' problem.
That sounds more like a real war.

Related, I just saw this comment on Hillbuzz. Sorry I can't get the link right now, but check this out:

OT, but did anyone know about this (from the HotAir comments section):

McCain requested that Obama send 3000 National Guard to the AZ border. I though this sounded strange – isn’t it the AZ Gov that deploys National Guard? Then I found this – Executive Order 13528, signed Jan 11 2010:

creating the Council of Governors removing the responsibility of the National Guard from the specific state governors to the Council appointed by the President.

So now the AZ Gov cannot deploy the AZ NG without approval from the President and his Council of Governors? Was anyone paying attention when this happened?

This bothers me a LOT. He just changed the rule, no debate, no peep from Congress, nothing? What else did he just change that we haven’t heard about? What else might he just change that we won’t know about?

This feels very dictatorish to me.
