Two-thirds of the 93 people arrested during the first day of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's latest crime and immigration sweep were believed to be illegal immigrants.
The two-day sweep is being run in an area of west Phoenix with a high number of "drop houses" where smugglers hide immigrants who have been sneaked into the country.
It's the 15th sweep that Arpaio has conducted since early 2008.
During the sweeps, deputies flood an area of a city _ in some cases heavily Latino areas _ to seek out traffic violators and arrest other alleged lawbreakers.
Critics say deputies racially profile Hispanics during the patrols. Arpaio says his deputies approach people only when they have probable cause to believe people had committed crimes.

If Joe wants to pick up the big numbers of illegals,
go after the businesses that hire the illegals and
the homes that hire them to clean and do yard work.
This will give him the opportunity to ship them back and punish those to help draw the illegans over the border.

Watch and wait. Obama and Holder have it out for this guy. Some BS federal indictment is gonna come down the line as soon as it looks like he might become Governor.
Then he needs to say, “I don’t think I’m gonna let you arrest me today” as he walks away.

And since these drop houses are secretive like an underground railroad, law enforcement is probably getting their tips from ordinary citizens. Citizens who must, of course, be raaaaacist and bigoted. Or maybe they just don't want violent criminal coyotes in their neighborhood.

Thanks! GO JOE!!! The man and his deputies are fearless and with an open border, it must be a disheartening job at times. I didn’t know you were in AZ....are you lucky to be in his county? We have our own kind of ‘Sheriff Joe’ in Ohio...he’s Sheriff Richard K. Jones of Butler County and he’s trying to get similar ‘AZ’ legislation passed here in Ohio! We’re not on the border, of course, but have close to 300,000 illegals all the way up here, just in Columbus. A dozen plus MS13 Leaders were arrested not far from my home! Still, I can’t imagine what it must be like living near the border.
