The attachment is a detailed description along with some incredible photographs of the Deepwater Horizon oil drilling platform that caught fire and sank in the Gulf of Mexico this week. The Deepwater Horizon was cutting edge technology and the disaster which claimed her is going to have extremely profound ecological and economic implications. I found it very interesting.

"is going to have extremely profound ecological and economic implications...

Only for the media and the sycophants who depend upon the MSM to lead their lives and minds. For the adults it will have neither effect. In fact, let it get demagogued by the MSM and their hyperventilating followers. Then we can finally get over the whole Exxon Valdez cloud hanging over domestic oil drilling.

I think we need to talk this up, just like the LIBERALS did with President Bush and Katrina. We have a golden opportunity here to hang this around the neck of that worthless Piece Of S*** obama.

This disaster can be laid at the feet of all those eco-jackasses who have constantly pushed for off-shore drilling limitations. By closing off access to shallow-water leases, the oil companies are forced to attempt to access “more difficult” sites for which technology is less “well” (no pun intended) tested. In other words, it is due to the failure to “drill, baby, drill”.

Ignorant reporter. Must be kin to Rosie O'donuts...

(S)he should have a least checked the terminology with someone in the oil business.

That is not a "mast", drilling rigs have "derricks".

Derricks don't "melt" in oil fires -- the steel (just as in the WTC) softens and weakens in the heat and the derrick folds over...
