No, it will be good for him, he can say, “See, we told you oil was bad for the environment and all living things!” More Windmills!!!
I agree. I wonder if it was deliberate for that purpose.
One big exception- no one died in the oil spill.
Someway, somehow, they´ll blame this one on Bush.
Anyone else find these comparisons tedious?
IMO it serves 0bama’s agenda spectacularly. Offshore drilling is hereby set back 5 years. Because BP didn’t or wouldn’t put one of those shutoff deals (cost = appx $500K = ONE.POINT.TWO frickin’ days of output @ 5000 bbl/day @ $85/bbl) and why one *wouldn’t* put such a device in such a hurricane-prone area is flat out brain dead. OK, *here’s* at last an example of congressites being “smarter” than oil co execs. Or at least the BP a**hat who made this decision.
nah, he’ll get a pass on this and blame bush
I agree. Obama was very slow to act.

i thought of that when it blew up. i would wager we are not the only ones
And that's because Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana all have Republican governors.
Bush wasn't slow to react with Katrina because Blanco was a Democrat. In fact, Blanco was slow to bring in Bush because he was a Republican and she was afraid of making him look good. She had to confer with Howard Dean before making any decisions regarding Katrina response.
Obama is so political as a president that he is willing to insert himself in a mine disaster funeral in West Virgina because they have a Democrat governor, but there's no talk of Obama appearing at a funeral for the missing 11 oil platform workers because the Gulf states are Republican.
It's that simple.

Didn't eleven people die in the explosion that caused the leak/spill?
Excuse me but 11 people are missing and presumed dead.
Oh, that’s right. Any death is a tragedy, but this won’t kill anywhere as many people as Katrina did.
Yeah, what about those 11 people? This was initially reported as a horrible accident and loss of human life. Now even the Times-Picayune is painting it as an environmental disaster and a loss of livelihood for fishermen.
No, this will not be Obama’s Katrina. The MSM deliberately made Katrina a Bush failure, which it was not. And the MSM will absolutely not in any way criticize Obama on and on for any aspect of this tragedy. Heck, if he does look responsible for some negative outcome, the MSM will spend as much time as necessary to absolve him of all responsibility.
I heard that the spill so far was 200,000 gallons and that 100,000 of dispersant have been applied. Someone needs to ascertain the long term toxicity of the dispersant.
