One of my absolute favorite movies!
I was worried no one would remember...
Wow...never heard of that movie before; is that Charles Durning? He was a bit of a hero himself in WW II.
As I recall, the Tomcat pilot who went nose down toward the water got the higher brass a little nervous , but the pilot didn’t seem to mind.
It is also my son’s favorite sequence, but then again he flies a Strike Eagle so I can understand. He tends to fly around deep in valleys (I guess that’s why they are called “Mud Hens”).
