The same people who did it before the invasion.

When I was a kid in the 1950's the gardeners were almost all Japanese......ours was named "George", but since he didn't speak a word of English, I highly doubt that was his real name.

He wore a funny cap, which I recognized down the line when TV started to show Japanese soldiers in World War II.

Wow, you're right. There were even Japanese gardeners in the 60s when I was paying attention. I had forgotten them. I just remembered the neighborhood boys who would come to our house and ask my Mom if they mow our lawn. Then one day...along with the kids who used to bus tables...they were gone.

Creepy about the hat and kinda sad.
