Oh, sure, Orange County Assemblyman Chuck DeVore's US Senate campaign may lag in the polls and in the fundraising race. But they're all over the new media stuff -- have won awards from political types for their Tweeting. And then there's Chuck's pioneering iPhone app.
But still, Chuck's name recognition lags. So this week Team DeVore launched an old school effort to bump it up through an ol' fashioned billboard campaign. Just like this:
Where did Chuck D from the OC get the idea for the $100,000 campaign? From where every conservative, Tea Party-endorsed Senate candidate does: From Hollywood!
Whaa? Stephen K. Bannon, writer-director of "Generation Zero" conceived of the effort. The other Hollywood type -- as do many conservatives there -- preferred to remain anonymous...presumably so he could work in town again. Just guessing there.
Also helping with layout and artwork: DeVore's 18-year-old daughter, Jennie, who appears on the kids' show (freaky coincidence alert!) iCarly. And no, the campaign confirms, she isn't the second, unnamed Hollywood connection.
Said Bannon: "The concept of placing Chuck Devore in front of the Constitution was a natural. Chuck's entire career has been about service to country and defense of our basic freedoms. We are glad to represent a growing section of the creative community that actively supports Chuck Devore's candidacy for the Republican nomination for United States Senate."
... Update: Chuck D himself just called to say that the campaign just signed an agreement to post signs near the San Mateo Bridge and in the Sacramento area. So NorCal will represent.

The times I’ve been required to watch iCarly I thought it seemed to lean a little conservative.
Enjoy and share with your address book. Give Babs all the credit she deserves!

hmmm it worked fine for me.
Stand up , Chuck!
Am I the only one who thinks this thread would be improved by a photo of Chuck D.’s eighteen-year-old daughter? Just sayin’.
Oh absolutely. I’ve been a volunteer chairman for almost a year now.

I don’t know who she is. I went to the iCarly web site, and I don’t see her anywhere on there.
GO CHUCK GO
Hey, CCC! Haven't talked to you in awhile. :o)
DeVore seems like a good man. Saw/heard him speak briefly at CPAC in February. He got a huge ovation from the crowd... many Californians in attendance.
