"The Republican Meg Whitman..." Now there is an oxymoron if I ever saw one.

Like Romney, Whitman is adept at being like a trained seal when it comes to saying words that are music to conservatives' ears, and like Romney, the principles of conservatism that underlie such musical words sail over her head. Like Romney, she hasn't a clue -- she is only capable of seeing the world of free, self-directed people through the eyes of a business executive boss. Like Romney, her business experience is in management, not in original entrepreneurship, and for such types in politics who believe their managerial acumen in business can be translated to government, "taxpayers" are the conceptual equivalent of "employees" -- resources to be managed and manipulated for more efficient production. But in business, if you don't like your business executive boss, you can quit and find something better, but you don't have that option when the business executive boss is lording it over taxpayers. Republicans who allow themselves to be fooled by the "business background = fiscal conservatism" line are being lazy.

I don't know about you, but I don't want a more efficient government. I WANT A SMALLER GOVERNMENT.

Gut-wise -- and I have never voted my "gut," but as I get older am beginning to realize that one ignores one's gut at one's peril -- gut-wise, her voice GIVES ME THE CHILLS. I hate the sound of her voice -- it is smug and arrogant. Her voice ALONE tells me that she thinks she's the smartest person in the room.
