They dont want to be a state they hate Amerika
I was born in Puerto Rico, and I probably love the U.S. more than you do. I fought for this country and I love everything about it, and I continue to take pride in my citizenship.
Though I was born in Puerto Rico and spent only my first 10 years there, I still consider myself to be a Puerto Rican, but I'm still an American first.
But, you sound very biased and bigoted and it's opinions such as yours that oftentimes give the liberals the ammunition to paint us (republicans and conservatives) as bigots and uncaring.
I don't have a real stake in the direction that Puerto Ricans decide to go, but I wouldn't mind if the island did become the 51st state. It would make my citizenship a lot more complete and official.
But, my pride in the U.S. and in Puerto Rico gaining statehood would be tempered by the knowledge that we still have to deal with creeps such as you in our midst.
You put a "k" in America, but that "k" might be more appropriate in the triple "K" club that bigots like you might be a member of. It's people like you that sometimes makes me wonder about the republican party I belong to, but I know that creeps like you exist in all political frameworks and all walks of life.

I had the chance to live and work there for a time. I loved it, and have thought seriously about going back to stay.
Its a lovely place, one of a kind.

Adorno, Thank You very much, for speaking up, I though I was the only Puerto Rican on this site taking offense to some of the clearly biased and bordering on racist comments from some “conservatives”on this site.
The stereotyping has exceeded any I had imagined I am just surprised that switchblades have not become part of the issue.
Orgullosamente Boricua.

I worked there, it is a giant (US) welfare state and they hate Americans, they don’t want to be a state they have all the benefits already, it has been voted on several times. I don’t want then, they can join Cuba and Venezuela, be the commies they wish to be.
