Several Dothan police officers will live on the roof of the Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop in an effort to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Dothan Police Cpl. Rachel David said officers will rotate living on the roof of the business, starting today at 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday. David said the officers will likely have a tent, couch and picnic tables on the roof with them. There will also be deputies with the Houston County Sheriffs Office on the roof. Police dubbed the fundraiser Cops on Shops.
David said officers will be sending down buckets to collect any contributions area residents would like to make.
Smart people exploit stereotypes rather than just whine about them.
Usually people do things out of the ordinary for fundraisers.
This sounds like normal daily routine for these guys.
I grew up in Dothan and this has been going on for some time to raise money. Another thing they will do is have the cops serve pancakes at local restaurants for the day. All tips go to charity IIRC. There’s really not much else to do in Dothan.
Cops in their natural habitat.
I don’t care who you are, that’s funny.
They are, rumor has it, accepting food food for contributions, with a distinct preference for fried, sweetened dough with a hole in the middle, frosted or filled with some more sugar and fat.
I’ll bet powdered donuts are their favorite, especially when they get a call that requires investigation.
Pull up on a dead body or scene requiring dusting? No problem, just shake your sleeve or front of your uniform and voila!
Instant chalk line and fingerprints, automatically!
