If I were your husband, I'd be doing what Zero DIDN'T do at the Church of Perpetual Hatred headed by Rev. Wright. Surely there are other houses of worship nearby that don't have snarky pastors like yours.
Unfortunately, our Pastor is just following the Bishop. The Catholic Bishops seem to be following the premise that since the Holy Family escaped into Egypt 2000 years ago when Herod’s henchmen were trying to exterminate all Jewish babies, that we should provide refuge for everyone in the whole world who is trying to escape the subjugation of another country.
When they write this out, however, they are very careful to say LEGAL immigration. But, when talking off the cuff, sometimes their real agenda slips out. This is the first time this Pastor has been so blatent. We are both very irritated and we have found the perfect excuse to avoid the Bishop’s Stewardship Appeal.
We give to the homeless. We give to crisis pregnancies. We give to support our own parish, and that is all.
