“She looks typical for Purdue...”

Which is why the football field at Ross-Ade has natural grass. It gives the cheerleaders a place to graze.

Ahhh...one of my favorite jokes from my IU days! Yes, we are a “house divided.”

Unfortunately, when I was at IU you could count the number of conservatives on one hand...and that was the hand of a 14 year old Siamese textile worker.

Well at least we have a reason to have a football field.

That said there have been two very disconcerting trends at Purdue that have shifted the political atmosphere there over the last 20 years.

1. The school of engineering is no longer the largest school in the university, the largest school is now the school of education.

2. Purdue has the largest number of foreign students of any major university.

Still the reason folks go to Purdue is because they want a job.

Which brings us to my favorite joke.

What does a Hoosier call a Boilermaker at the office?

Answer.... Boss.
