Is Richard Clarke just ignorant or worse about what gun rallies commemorated?
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 24 April, 2010 | David Codrea

The conflation and lies continue about the purpose of choosing April 19 for the gun rights rallies in Washington DC and Virginia. That a forum to do this would be given on HBO's "Real Time" with Bill Maher is hardly surprising.

From Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters:

This stupidity came seconds after guest Richard Clarke actually said that the gun rally in Virginia on April 19 was to commemorate the Oklahoma City bombing:

Watch the exchange for yourself.

This is what Clarke represents as the truth of the day:

I'm from Virginia and there was a rally in Virginia on April 19 commemorating the day of the Oklahoma City attack where people were encouraged to carry their guns to the rally.

That's a damnable lie. And note how he uses both voice and hands to add emphasis to the word "commemorating." It's not a word he chose carelessly.

What we were commemorating could not have been made more clear—which is evidently why the media is trying its best to muddy things up. "Authorized Journalists," you know...

So who is this Clarke character and why should we care what he says?

He's a counter-terrorism security adviser to presidents.

He's a leading author on the matter.

They realize that all they need to do is tell a lie, any lie so long as it tarnishes those who oppose the leftist agenda. There are millions of mindless leftists who are already convinced that Democrat opponents are terrorists. No proof necessary.

Clark has proven time and again that he’s a moron so that is a given, He’s clearly a liar too.
Oh, and there’s Alan Grayson to back him up.

I think it’s a deliberate, thought-out attempt to conflate “gun rights” and “terrorism.”

IIRC, Richard Clarke is the guy who wrote a NY Times[?] op-ed article just before 9/11 about how “overrated” the terrorist threat was.

My question is ‘why did Clarke have any power in a Republican Administration?’. Oh, wait, it was GWB trying to create a ‘new tone’ in DC politics. THAT was his single biggest mistake. The Dems he left in place were his downfall.

Another big mistake that George W. Bush made was his failure to secure our borders. His push for amnesty....”See you at the signing.” Calling minutemen along our border “vigilantes,” when all they were doing was reporting illegal border crossers to the border patrol.
