I hear you. The public schools of today are a far cry from the public schools of yesterday.

My teachers would have pulled their car over to break up a fight in the park in the middle of summer. We were an actual community and the teachers were lifelong residents of that community.

A few years back, a girl I went to school with was killed in an accident. Both of her parents were teachers of mine and I went to the funeral as much for them as I did the former schoolmate.
